Community Life
Jesus came to gather all people into one family—beloved, seen, and cherished children of God. At Holy Child and St. Martin, we strive to reflect that same compassion and welcome in the way we live together. We are a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational community, and we give thanks for the many stories, traditions, and identities that shape who we are.
Whoever you are—whatever your nationality, culture, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation—you are warmly welcomed here. Truly. You belong.
Our shared life is rich and joyful. On any given Sunday, you might experience a celebration of a Peruvian saint with Spanish-language worship and traditional foods. Our community includes people whose roots reach to the Philippines, China, Japan, Korea, across Africa and Polynesia, and throughout Europe and the Americas. We come from different places and carry different histories, yet we find our unity in the Body of Christ and in the love God calls us to share.
We nurture this sense of belonging not only through worship, but through the simple gift of spending time together. Sunday fellowship meals, informal parish gatherings, bus trips, bingo nights, and community dancing after fellowship all help us build real friendships. Our annual summer picnic and BBQ bring even more opportunities for joy and connection. There is a lot of laughter among us, and a deep sense of care.
We show up for one another. We carry one another’s burdens, celebrate one another’s joys, and offer comfort in times of sorrow. In loving one another, we come to better understand the heart of God—a love that strengthens us and sends us into the world to share that same grace with others.
